After several unusually mild winters with barely a dusting of snow, Belgrade might finally experience a true winter season again. Meteorologists predict that the 2025/2026 winter could bring real mountain vibes to the Serbian capital, with up to 30 days of continuous snow cover.

Last winter, Belgrade saw its first snowfall on November 22, but the rest of the season felt more like spring than winter. This time, experts expect snow to arrive around the same date, but the months that follow could be much colder and snowier than in recent years.
According to forecasts, temperatures will frequently drop below zero, and snowfall will be far more regular than the city has seen lately. If these predictions come true, Belgrade could once again wake up under 20–30 centimeters of snow, lasting for several weeks and bringing back the winters of the 1980s.
For years now, our youth have hardly known what a real winter looks like. In the past, cold seasons meant frozen streets, icy rain, and the sharp košava wind cutting through the city. This upcoming winter could bring back that nostalgic atmosphere, a retro winter where children can finally enjoy the magic of clean, white snow once again.
