In April 2024, Serbian media outlets were buzzing about Kim Kardashian’s upcoming visit to Belgrade. Detailed schedules and travel plans were shared, with June 16 highlighted as the date of her arrival. The visit was to include the grand opening of her fashion brand’s store (presumed to be SKIMS, although the exact company wasn’t specified). Now, as we find ourselves in mid-July, the businesswoman and reality TV star has yet to make her appearance, and the silence from the Serbian media is deafening.
Details of the Planned Visit to Belgrade
We were certain that Kim Kardashian would visit Belgrade, as nearly all major Serbian media outlets reported her arrival on June 16. According to these reports, she would come directly from attending the Serbia vs. England soccer game in Gelsenkirchen at the European Championships. In Belgrade, she was scheduled to open a boutique for her brand, we supposed SKIMS, in one of the city’s shopping malls and attend a VIP party held in her honor.
The American celebrity was to arrive on her private jet, “Kim Air,” and had supposedly requested ten different cars to use as decoys to avoid paparazzi. Among the top sights she planned to visit were Kalemegdan Park and the St. Sava Temple. Following her stay in Belgrade, she was expected to attend Paris Fashion Week.
Kim Kardashian’s No-Show in Belgrade
We’ve been eagerly awaiting Kim Kardashian’s arrival in Belgrade to confirm whether a SKIMS store would indeed be opening in the Serbian capital. However, there has been no news, and it appears she hasn’t visited Belgrade after all. Checking her Instagram, it looks like she didn’t attend the UEFA European Football Championship either.
Interestingly, the Serbian media, which had been so enthusiastic about her visit, have remained silent about her no-show. There has been no follow-up coverage or speculation on why Kim didn’t make it to Belgrade. This silence only deepens the mystery surrounding the canceled visit.
Were Serbian media outlets fabricating Kim K’s visit for clickbait, or did she cancel and postpone it for another occasion? If she doesn’t arrive in the next few months, we may have our answer.
Kim Kardashian Opens New SKIMS Stores in the United States
In the past month, we’ve closely followed Kim’s Instagram and that of her SKIMS brand, but there was no mention of Belgrade. SKIMS opened its first permanent store in Washington, D.C.’s Georgetown neighborhood on June 13, 2024, followed later that month by the opening of its second permanent store in Miami, Florida. Previously, SKIMS was only available online, through pop-up locations, or via third-party retailers.
“Retail was my first love and job, and I hope to bring you all the best retail experience. I’m incredibly proud that SKIMS has begun opening retail stores! Make sure to check them out!” Kim shared her excitement on Instagram.
Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS has revolutionized the underwear industry, achieving nearly $1 billion in net sales last year. In addition to being the Official Underwear Partner of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), the National Basketball Association (NBA), and USA Basketball, the shapewear company has also dropped a limited-edition Team USA collection, inspired by the incredible strength and resilience of U.S. athletes participating in the Paris Olympic Games.
SKIMS Shapewear in Europe
Currently, Europeans can purchase SKIMS products at 13 locations, primarily in the United Kingdom, but also in Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, and Ireland. Will Serbia soon join this list? It remains to be seen, but it is certainly possible. With Serbia rapidly preparing to host the Specialized EXPO event in 2027, the country is becoming increasingly attractive to investors.
