Once the largest and most luxurious hotel in Yugoslavia, the iconic "Jugoslavija" in Belgrade is about to share the fate of the country whose name it bears. This legendary building, nestled along the Danube River, is slated for demolition to make way for a modern multi-purpose complex, including a Ritz-Carlton hotel. Belgrade citizens are filled with nostalgia as they prepare to bid farewell to a hotel that hosted numerous distinguished guests, including Queen Elizabeth II, American presidents Richard Nixon and Jimmy Carter, the first astronauts on the Moon, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, and the famous singer Tina Turner.
