Top 3 Belgrade Parking Places for Tourists
For tourists, the most practical choice is to park in one of the city’s numerous:
1) garages,
2) car parks, or
3) shopping malls.
Due to convenience of payment options, it’s easier to avoid the zoned street parking, especially for shorter stays in the city.
While garages typically entail higher costs compared to street parking, they offer a more reliable chance of securing a spot and payment is easy, typically accepting both cash and card, no need for a local SIM card or parking app.
Shopping mall parking rates can vary, with malls in prime locations usually requiring payment, while those situated on the outskirts often provide free parking.
Belgrade Parking App
Download the “Parking Servis” app from Google Play or the App Store to easily find and pay for available parking spots in Belgrade. The app allows you to pay via SMS, bank card, or in-app deposit, making parking payments fast, simple, and secure.
With the “Parking Servis” app, you can pay for parking services in garages, car parks, and zoned areas, as well as for daily parking tickets or monthly subscriptions. The app also provides navigation to available parking spots.
In garages and car parks, the app allows you to pay for parking without visiting a cashier desk. Simply enter your parking ticket number or take a picture of it, and make a payment using your bank card or in-app deposit. For zoned areas, the app automatically recognizes the parking zone and offers various payment methods, including SMS, bank card, or in-app deposit.
You’ll receive notifications of issued parking tickets (eDPT) directly in the app, allowing you to make payments without visiting a bank or the post office. Additionally, the app will notify you if your vehicle is towed away by the authorities.
For tourists and short-term visits, downloading the app is not convenient and necessary. We recommend using cash payments (and having cards as alternatives) and opting for garages, car parks, and shopping malls as the best parking options in Belgrade.

Belgrade Parking Zones
In Belgrade, on-street parking in the city center is divided into time-restricted zones, while areas with lower demand have no time restrictions. The time-restricted zones are divided into four zones, each with a maximum stay limit and an option to extend the parking time for an additional period at a higher rate:
- Zone A: max. 30 minutes
- Red zone (1st): max. 60 minutes, with an extended parking time of 30 minutes
- Yellow zone (2nd): max. 120 minutes, with an extended parking time of 60 minutes
- Green zone (3rd): max. 180 minutes, with an extended parking time of 60 minutes
After the total parking time expires, the vehicle cannot be parked in the same zone for the next 30 minutes. Parking charges in these zones apply from Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 21:00, and Saturday 07:00 to 14:00. Parking on Sundays is free.
Payment Instructions for Belgrade Parking Zones
Parking in these street zones can be paid for via SMS, a parking app, or an e-parking ticket.
Pay Belgrade Parking via SMS
For tourists without a Serbian SIM card, this method is not recommended, as the payment may not be processed. However, if you have a local SIM card, this is the preferred and most common way for locals to pay for parking.
To pay for parking via SMS in Belgrade, send a text message to one of the following short numbers:
- 9114: For 30 minutes of parking in zone A
- 9111: For an hour of parking in zone 1 (red zone)
- 9112: For an hour of parking in zone 2 (yellow zone)
- 9113: For an hour of parking in zone 3 (green zone)
- 9119: For an hour of parking in a zone with no time limits (blue zone)
- 9118: For daily parking in some parking lots, as indicated by vertical traffic signs (blue zone)
Ensure that your text message contains only your license plate number, without any spaces or symbols between the numbers or letters.
You can send two or three text messages at once if within the time limits of the particular zone. Extended parking time can be paid up to 5 minutes before the time limit of the zone expires, after receiving information about the expiration of the maximum allowed parking time.
Pay Street Parking via Belgrade Parking App (“Parking Service” App)
In zoned areas, the application uses GPS information to determine your location and suggests the parking zone where your vehicle is parked. It also offers various payment methods, including SMS, bank card, or in-app deposit.
Pay Belgrade Parking via E-Parking Ticket
Purchase hourly e-Parking tickets at newsstands (trafika) or from parking controllers.

Rajićeva: Because of its central location, this mall has the highest parking rates in Belgrade, priced at 200 RSD per hour. However, if you spend over 6,000 RSD in one of the shops or restaurants, you can visit the information desk to have your receipt stamped, allowing you to enjoy the first three hours of parking in the mall for free on the day of the purchase.

Parking Fines
If you fail to pay for street parking or exceed the allowed parking time, parking enforcement officers will issue a fine, which you can pay at any bank or post office. If the fine is paid within eight days, a 50% discount is applied. The fine for improper parking or exceeding the parking time limit in the first, second, and third zones in Belgrade is 1,870 dinars. If the fine is paid within eight days, the fine amount will be halved to 935 dinars.
On the other hand, illegally parked vehicles are handled by the traffic police and fines are considerably larger. Your car can get towed to one of several designated lots in the city. Once at the lot, you will be required to present a valid form of ID and the vehicle matriculation papers, pay the mandatory fine and towing expenses.
Parking fines are another reason we recommend using garages, car parks, or shopping malls, as you won’t exceed time limits, park improperly or forget to pay.
Belgrade Waterfront Parking
While Belgrade Waterfront does offer street parking, the availability of spots is very limited. Therefore, your best option is to park at Galerija Shopping Mall. The mall provides free parking for the first three hours, with a charge of 200 RSD per hour thereafter. Given the grand size of the mall garage, it’s advisable to note the level and section where you parked, to avoid any confusion when returning to your vehicle.
Belgrade Airport Parking
Belgrade Airport offers good garages and parking lots. If you stay for just an hour or two, it’s fine, but parking your car at the airport for days can be very expensive. The airport website has more details about specific parking options and pricing.
For drop-offs at the airport, you can access the arrivals and departures area, known as the Kiss & Fly Zone, free of charge for up to five minutes.
In recent times, a new and more cost-effective airport parking option has become increasingly popular for longer stays. For travelers leaving their vehicles at the airport, there are private parking lots situated a short distance away in Surčin. These lots offer shuttle services to and from the airport. Multiple parking lots are available, each with its pricing structure. Nonetheless, the rates are quite reasonable, making this a significantly cheaper alternative to parking in the airport garage.
Conclusion
Navigating parking in Belgrade can be challenging, but with the right information, it can be manageable. From understanding the parking zones and payment methods to exploring alternative parking options, there are ways to make your parking experience in Belgrade more convenient and cost-effective. Whether you’re a tourist exploring the city or a local resident, taking the time to plan your parking strategy can help you avoid fines and unnecessary stress, allowing you to enjoy all that Belgrade has to offer.
