Selfie Bridge Belgrade – the Highlight of Sava Promenade
The pedestrian platform is designed as an extension of the Sava Promenade, branching out into a separate arched path on a structure above the water. This structure is the centerpiece of a scenic route that stretches along the Sava River, all the way from Ada Ciganlija to the 25th May. It provides a wonderful pathway for pedestrians and cyclists, offering a picturesque and leisurely recreational experience.

Visitors can rent bicycles at Ada Ciganlija, or they can receive a free bicycle ride for up to four passengers as part of the city’s Park & Cycle service when parking their car at some of Belgrade’s large car parks near the river, such as Ada Ciganlija and Milan Gale Muškatirović. Exploring the beautiful Sava Promenade by bicycle is a great option for tourists and locals alike.

Selfie Bridge Construction Details
The Selfie Bridge Belgrade stands out as a remarkable engineering feat—a 116-meter structure spanning the river without any supporting elements in the water. Construction lasted three year, and after all the necessary static testing, it was opened to the public in April 2024.
Adjacent to Belgrade Tower and the Galerija Shopping Mall, the panoramic bridge comprises seven suspended steel elements that create a pedestrian path of variable width, ranging from 4 meters in the middle to 12 meters at the connection points with the land. The bridge parts were prefabricated, transported by barges, and lifted from the river onto temporary supports. The steel structure meets all functional and safety requirements with its load-bearing capacity of 500 kilograms per square meter.

The pathway of the Selfie Bridge Belgrade is adorned with natural stone. To enrich the panoramic experience and connect visitors with nature, the bridge’s floor features transparent glass panels along the edge, allowing pedestrians to see the river flowing beneath their feet.

Belgrade Waterfront Project
Situated along the banks of the Sava River, the ambitious Belgrade Waterfront project aims to create a vibrant and modern urban area that seamlessly blends residential, commercial, and recreational spaces. With a strong emphasis on innovative architecture and sustainable design, the revamped riverside area has introduced several iconic structures, including Belgrade Tower, the Sava Promenade, and Sava Square featuring the Stefan Nemanja Monument. These additions have transformed the area into a dynamic hub for both residents and tourists, providing a vibrant mix of living, working, and leisure spaces. (source: Kurir)
